Description

This pen is a Limited Edition made by Nettuno in 1990’s in the rare moss green celluloid.
They manufactured only 911 pieces of this fountain pen as they were made to commemorate Nettuno’s beginning in 1911.
The pen is fitted with a special charging mechanism: first you have to unscrew the bottom counter-closckwise and then it can be used as a push knob to fill the pen.
It is for the reason that it is usually referred to as one of the Italy’s historical brands producing writing instruments, perhaps even the first.
In fact a 1911 sketch for an advertising flyer featured the logo, Neptune fountain in Piazza Maggiore in Bologna, Italy, chosen as its symbol by Umberto Vecchietti, founder of the company.
This makes Nettuno the oldest Italian fountain pens manufacturer, at least with regards to the foundation year.
