Description

The Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days collection is inspired by Jules Verne’s famous adventure novel “Around the World in 80 Days”. The LeGrand fountain pen in precious anthracite resin draws inspiration from the second leg of the journey, from Bombay to Yokohama. In this second adventurous stage, the protagonists travel on a majestic elephant, which appears in a cartouche on the hood. The clip features a red lacquered Ace of Diamonds and the cone is engraved with a motif inspired by Princess Auda’s jewels and card suits, representing Fogg’s bet to complete the journey in 80 days. The top of the cap features embossing of the duration of the journey, 25 days from Bombay to Yokohama and 80 days in total. The writing instrument is completed by a handmade 14K gold nib, decorated with a hot air balloon and with the dates 10/20 and 11/14: Fogg leaves Bombay on October 20th at 8pm and Yokohama on November 14th to 6pm.

Montblanc pens need no introduction. They are a real institution in the field of fountain pens. They were born in 1908, in Germany, when August Eberstein and Alfred Nehemias combined creative genius with a flair for business. The early years were quite difficult: the pens then did not have the characteristic clip and the clips were produced separately.
The year that marked the turning point for the German company was 1924, when the famous Meisterstück was born, which not by chance in German means wonder and which was immediately a great success.
Montblanc pens today are synonymous with excellence, elegance, perfection. Those who choose a Montblanc do not accept compromises and only want the best for themselves.
