Description

Pen of the Year 2003: Snakewood
To launch this “pen of the year” series, Faber-Castell chose a piston system fountain pen with a finely ribbed barrel made of snakewood.

The characteristic markings that give this wood its name exert a magical attraction, not just on connoisseurs. Snakewood, with its reddish-brown figured grain, is one of the heaviest and most costly types of wood in the world; it is used, for example, for violin bows and exclusive carved works of art.

The contrasting combination of wood and metal provides a note of elegant understatement. The wooden barrel harmonizes perfectly with the platinized metal fittings, for example on the cap.

The year 2003 marks the start of a new series of special editions, which every year will present a new magnum version of the Graf von Faber-Castell fountain pen. Each edition is produced for one year only.

Whose elegance and craftsmanship have established them a position at the upper end of the market. Another characteristic feature is the typical ribbed surface of all the writing implements in the collection.
