Following the success of the first edition featuring Glauco Cambon’s vibrant design, Pelikan is proud to present the second installment of the Pelikan Art Collection: the SOUVERÄN® M600 PELIKAN ART COLLECTION RUDI ROTHER.
This special edition once again brings Pelikan’s rich visual heritage of historical advertising to life, this time through the bold, geometric aesthetic of artist and designer Rudi Rother.
With his expressive artworks reimagined on the barrel of the fountain pen, this edition continues the journey of transforming iconic images of the past into contemporary objects of writing art.

The fusion of art and commerce at the beginning of the 20th century marked the beginning of a new era: the birth of advertising art. From then on, posters became the canvas on which brands could communicate by merging art and product.
Avant-garde artists and designers such as El Lissitzky and Kurt Schwitters began creating commercial images using Pelikan inks and paints. This rich collection of advertising posters, spanning 1900 to 1950, is an extraordinary part of Pelikan’s artistic legacy.
It was Fritz Beindorff, Pelikan’s former owner and an art enthusiast, who first recognized the creative potential of these collaborations.
As early as 1898/99, he launched the first Pelikan poster competition, laying the foundation for a lasting dialogue between art and design.
