The Pelikan Souverän M600 Art Collection Georg Tippel fountain pen represents the third chapter of Pelikan’s prestigious Art Collection, a series that transforms historic masterpieces of graphic art into exceptional writing instruments. This special edition reinterprets the iconic “Grundfarben” poster from 1899, created by artist Georg Tippel for one of Pelikan’s earliest advertising competitions, resulting in a piece that beautifully combines art, history, and craftsmanship.

This project originates from a time when art and commercial communication merged to shape modern visual culture. Tippel’s artwork, with its clear and symbolic visual language, still reflects Pelikan’s core values today: continuity, responsibility, and long-term vision.

The design translates these concepts into a refined and contemporary aesthetic. The barrel features a pattern inspired by the cloud motifs from the original artwork, reinterpreted into an abstract and rhythmic composition. The soft shapes interact with light to create depth, movement, and a subtle shimmering effect, framed by warm-toned semi-transparent resin.

This visual richness is achieved through the sophisticated Aurora process, combining a finely engraved guilloché with multiple layers of lacquer, resulting in a luminous and dimensional surface that highlights Pelikan’s renowned craftsmanship.

As part of the Souverän series, the M600 also delivers outstanding technical performance. The piston filling system ensures reliability and generous ink capacity, while the 14k bi-color gold nib provides a smooth, precise, and highly enjoyable writing experience. The pen is completed with 24k gold-plated details and the iconic Pelikan clip.
