Throughout history, humanity has always demonstrated a natural instinct to express feelings, impressions, and experiences through words. The same is true of Bram Stoker, who wore many hats: civil servant, theater director, progressive thinker, but above all, pioneer of the horror genre; a writer who, with Dracula, created not only a literary character, but also a myth. In the Irish novelist’s 1897 work, the infamous age-old figure of the vampire found its definitive literary form. In honor of the author of this classic horror tale, Montblanc has created the Writers Edition Homage to Bram Stoker Limited Edition, emphasizing how the fight against the forces of evil was driven by advances in medical science. Bram Stoker’s superb description of the landscapes and Dracula’s appearance still has the power to leave the reader breathless today. The Writers Edition captures this atmosphere of doom with its cap and barrel colors, which captivatingly blend red and black precious resin, a harbinger of impending danger. The signature of Count Dracula’s literary father is immortalized within the cap’s spiral motifs. Inspired by the vampire’s bite marks, the ruthenium-coated clip elegantly tapers while recalling the shape of a historic Montblanc fountain pen clip. Two traces on the clip ring evoke the vampire’s “bite marks.” The shape of this writing instrument celebrates a milestone in medical technology, the Pravaz syringe, operated by a screw mechanism. Likewise, the decorative elements on the trims are reminiscent of a classic Victorian writing instrument, very similar to the one used by Bram Stoker to write his works. Although the author did not live to witness the global rise of his iconic character, he alone deserves the honor of the Writers Edition Homage to Bram Stoker.
